At Superior Dental Health, you can take advantage of the convenience of in-office professional whitening treatments, which take approximately one hour, and/or take-home customized whitening trays tha

t whiten the teeth over a period of weeks.

In-office whitening is performed in the convenience of our dental office. During your appointment, we will apply a whitening gel to the surface of your teeth. The entire office visit generally takes about 90 minutes and you will be able to see results immediately.

At-home whitening with custom-made trays and professional-strength whitening gel is only available through your dentist. As the peroxide in the gel breaks down, hydroxyradicals remove stains from the teeth. This process whitens all your natural teeth and may contain ingredients intended to provide maximum comfort. At-home professional tray whitening generally takes ten to 14 days, although you may notice results in as little as three to five days. We offer a VIP whitening program, where patients receive whitening gel refills for their take-home trays at their preventive care appointments.

Which whitening treatment is right for you?

Professional tooth whitening is not for everyone. Your consultation will give us time to discuss your goals, the risks and benefits of whitening, and the best options for your individual needs.

Regardless of which whitening option you choose, there are several factors to keep in mind:

  • Teeth and gums must be healthy before beginning a teeth-whitening regimen
  • Teeth whitening is best at removing yellow staining from aging, tobacco, dark cola, tea, coffee, or red wine
  • Tetracycline stains may not be affected by whitening procedures
  • Repeat treatments may be necessary from time to time to keep your smile looking its whitest

If you're interested in having a brighter, whiter smile, talk to one of the Superior Dental Health doctors during your next office visit.
